The law revealed sin, Christ revealed the righteousness of God.
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” – Romans 8:26
Just like a baby can’t ask for what they need from their parents, we don’t know what to ask God for, but we make groans like babies that could be understood by the parent, despite the baby being not able to speak and ask. Just like babies, their parents are likely to know what they need before they ask for it.
“For whoever is doubtful and eats is condemned because it is not in faith, for everything that is not from faith is sin.” – Romans 14:23
We must eat the body of Christ in faith because if we don’t believe, we can’t receive. If we receive and don’t believe, we only cause ourselves to sin.
The grace of God was given out, so that the guilty can receive righteousness, not so that the guilty can seem righteous. If we conduct ourselves in a way to seem righteous, we only deceive ourselves and waste the grace. For those who seek self-righteousness only waste the grace of God. The grace is not so you can “get your act together” it’s so that you can walk in righteousness and truly be righteous and it will feel natural because it please the spirit in you that loves righteousness.
The don’t love what’s right for the flesh corrupts and cast out anything that is good and holy. The love of God exceeds the lust of the flesh. Love binds things together to work for good, lust burns and is like a fire that needs to continually destroy to remain alive. Love builds.
